Lexus compatible 2-button key housing with straight key blade with notch in center to replace your damaged or defective key housing. Among others, the key is suitable for Lexus ES300, Lexus LS400, Lexus LX450, Lexus LX470, Lexus SC300/400.

No that is not necessary, you can have a properly working key housing again without technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
Step 1. Open your existing key, remove the electronics, battery and immobilizer and place them in the new key housing.
Step 2. Take your original key and the new key to the locksmith/chop shop
