The ignition key with transponder is among others suitable for Volvo XC70, Volvo 850, Volvo 960, Volvo C70, Volvo V90, Volvo V70, Volvo S90 and Volvo S70.

How do I replace the ignition key with transponder?
You can have a functioning ignition key again without technical knowledge.

What do you need to do?
Choose between replacing your damaged/defective key or an (extra) spare key, see below.

To replace your damaged or defective ignition key with transponder
Step 1. Open your existing ignition key, remove the transponder/immobilizer and put it over the new ignition key.
Step 2. Have your key copied by a locksmith. Close the housing.
Step 3. That's all, you now have a properly working ignition key again.

An (extra) spare key
Step 1. Take your original key and the new key with you to the locksmith/hack bar.
Step 2. Have the immobilizer/transponder copied. The immobilizer allows you to start your car.
Step 3. Have the key copied by the locksmith/chop bar.
Step 4. That's all, you now have an (extra) spare key.
